The debut EP from Sensum and Clunch explores the fertile world of composition and recording at the quantum-level of sound design that only modular synth gear can transverse. Every single element of Sensum and Clunch has been crafted and expertly tweaked, displaying a delicate relationship between man and machine. Refined minimalist sensibilities and a meticulously honed inventory of effects melodically guide these compositions with a razor sharp aesthetic across this masterfully executed all-analog extended player.

Tiny Grains Of innocuously opens the album, which fully encapsulates the lucid soundtrack of a newly active mind. Energetic signals twinkle and pulsate like an android discovering its self for the first time and finally realizing the gravity that comes with “I”. The remainder of side A rides the lows and highs of sentience; Stealing Reason is pensive and brooding, while the insouciant Strawberry Days conducts a playful dialogue between its various sound sources.

The whole of side B consists of the augural Black Train Jack, which thumps along like the anxious heartbeat of a disturbed individual fearing the onset of a psychic schism. This fatidic epic follows an unyielding downward spiral; ceaselessly churning out pairs of stygian rhythms and programming until the groove erodes away into a final pulsing synth line.
